Gear Review: 5.11 Stryke Pants Abused for Two Years

511 Stryke Pants

I know the 5.11 Stryke Pants have been around for a while, but I felt compelled to do this review. I’ve had a pair I’ve been beating up for about 2 years now, and they’re still kickin.

This one pair of pants has been through some pretty severe ass whoopins over the last 2 years. I’ve done lots of OCR and endurance events in them. They have been through our own survival courses, Spartan Race, Mud Challenger, and several GORUCK challenge events. These 5.11 Stryke pants have been through some pretty harsh conditions. Mud. Dirt. Gravel. Cactus. Barbed wire. Salt water. They have take what I’ve thrown at them and replied “Is that all you got, sucka”?

I had to run them through a car wash.

5.11 Stryke PantsI’ve even beat these things up SO bad on one occasion, that the ONLY way to get the nastiness and funk out of them was to power wash them at a car wash. Not joking, dead serious here. After a 24 hour endurance event involving some PT in a cow pond full of what smelled like cow shit and piss, we were pretty damn funky. Some people ended up throwing away their clothes from that event because they smelled like, well, shit and piss fermented in the hot Texas Hill Country sun. Not me. I power washed them. The pants you see in the video are the pants I wore in that event.

So they stood up to all that, plus a pressure washing and I can still wear them. Like the kid in Taladega Nights said “…and I’m still wearing my pee pants right now”.

I know a review of pants that have been on the market for a few years at LEAST is not that impressive or cutting-edge, I get it. However, as I was doing laundry, I realized those pants had been through some stuff and had almost no visible signs of real wear for the worse. I was impressed, so I sat down and shot this quick video.

Hope that helps, if you were in the market for a new pair of pants to beat the hell out of. If you want a pair, get them HERE. For under $80, I think that’s a definite win.
